In the pilot Deadweight, we are introduced to two characters; Richie and the Bodybuilder.  Richie is an out gay man in his twenties, lost in life and whose string of hookups aren’t satisfying him anymore. He is invited over by The Bodybuilder – a closeted fitness enthusiast in his 30s. Caught between craving physical intimacy and the fear of being outed, The Bodybuilder has found an unusual way to intimately connect with other gay men. Richie is intrigued. In the meeting that follows, intentions are misinterpreted, one-sided flirting takes place, and Richie is lifted up but not in the ways he would like.
